Lackluster is a simple Unicorn pony who grew up on a rock farm. When he was a young colt his parents found him messing around with some of the rejected gems and although they were small and imperfect he had been able to cut and polish them to bring out their inner beauty. This was how he got his cutie mark of a jewelers Magnifier and a finely cut gem. He now works in the city as a jeweler and creates beautiful works of art. Although he does not fully realize it his special talent also applies to ponies. While he may easily spot a flaw in some pony he can also quickly see how to make that ponies inner beauty come out and shine.
